Wedges are the most frequently replaced clubs in any bag — grooves wear out after 70–100 rounds. This makes the used wedge market excellent value: tour-quality Vokey, Cleveland and Callaway wedges for £30–£70 that still have plenty of life left.
Before buying, inspect the grooves closely — sharp defined grooves are essential for spin. Check the leading edge for chips from bunker use and ensure the shaft is straight.
